Evening Lecture by Indonesian Heritage Society and BINUS University
Indonesian Heritage Society and BINUS University deliver the Evening Lecture:
“Records and Rebellions: Empowering Indonesia”
On 4th December 2018, Indonesian Heritage Society (IHS) in collaboration with BINUS University will host a guest lecture and discussion panel at Erasmus Huis on social movements in Indonesian music. The lecture discusses how local musicians can drive positive change in Indonesian communities through their music. The IHS is a non-profit entity with the aim of promoting the country’s cultural heritage through a wide range of activities. This includes organizing museum tours, guest lecture events, heritage tours, and many other activities related to Indonesian culture.
Ms Lala Karmela, Ms Kartika Jahja, and Mr Ardhito Pranomo, contemporary Indonesian musicians, will join the panel discussion as well as provide a live performance. The guest lecture will be facilitated by a handful of diligent students from the Communications program of BINUS University International. The three artists hope to illustrate that the music of Indonesia demonstrates responsiveness to social realities and attempts to create influence via a closely knit relationship to the fans.
Visitors are welcome from 6 pm to register and have a snack or a drink. The lecture will start at 7 pm.
